Like an earlier reviewer talked about, I also received the item with a broken cover hinge. Fault goes to Belkin's poor packaging, not Amazon's packing. I didn't want hassle of returning it so I just decided to keep it as I was in a position to place the cover in location regardless of only applying 1 hinge. The plastic hinge is poorly developed so rather most likely the hinge would have ultimately broken off. Despite this problem, the unit operates as it need to. The cover does "cover up" the wire mess but the cable routing is quite tight so it take some function to squeeze in all the wires. Also, the block spacing does not accommodate odd-searching transformer blocks, like those from my motorola charger and USB hub.
It is most certainly not an quick job to get this entire thing place with each other and hooked up. There is not a lot of space for tied up cords, so it really is top to tie up a couple and then just stuff the others in the open spaces. It popped open the very first time I closed it and does not appear to latch securely. I thought I was going to have to tape it shut. With a small rearranging, it stayed closed and hasn't popped open once more.
It's pretty extended, so placement can be a trouble. I had set it up behind my rolling Television stand, but realized that it wouldn't move easily devoid of rollers of its personal. So I popped it open the other day, unplugged almost everything and started out from scratch. I now have it end on and place it on the cart itself. I believed at initially that the shelf wasn't going to be deep enough. Now it hangs off the back a bit, but that is OK. I have the finish with the energy switch on the front and all the cords coming out of the back. It looks nice even though I wish it had been either black or white like my TiVo and Wii respectively as an alternative of that dull dove gray that electronics manufacturers--but no one particular else--loves.
Oh, there is a single other good feature. You can pull the cords out of either side or even the leading--and that goes for its personal cord as well. It could possibly be fine to acquire a colour coding set as well. The moment the cords are all shoved up in there, it's hard to tell what goes to what.
In summary, its tough to set up, but when it's done, it is done. Not superior for temporary set-ups, but outstanding if you want to set it up and leave it.
